The United States has a long and storied history of dealing arms to the Middle East, whether be Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, or other states.  President Trump insisted that Saudi Arabia continue purchasing US weapons, focusing also on the civil war in Yemen.

"There's nobody even close, as I said before, when it comes to the missiles and the planes and all of the military equipment," Trump said. "There's nobody that even comes close to us in terms of technology and the quality of the equipment, and Saudi Arabia appreciates that."

The crown prince began the invasion of Yemen shortly after becoming Minister of Defense in 2015.  Per Trump, the US-Saudi relations have improved since the Obama administration since the Iran deal angered the Saudi people.

Several US-Senators, including Bernie Sanders, proposed a bill to withdraw from Yemen; President Trump wishes to leave certain areas since the terrorist groups have fallen back a fair bit.

"We'll be able to get out of certain areas that we've wanted to get out of for a long period of time, and other countries can handle it," he said. "At this point, they'll be able to handle it."

The US involvement in Yemen is yet to be seen, but the Saudis will continue buying US arms regardless of the outcome.
